Best way for an international buyer to pay other than Paypal?

I have had a newbie buyer purchase one of my items without reading my T and C's (Paypal only for international). However I would like proceed with the transaction if possible. Can anyone suggest the safest way for her to send me the money please, how easy is it to cash a money order, or are there any other alternatives? The transaction was for £35. She says she can't open a Paypal account.

Thanks

Ask for a money order in pounds, not dollars.
    Free to cash this end!

Frankly, I would be expecting my buyer to work out how to pay me as she knows what she can get in the US by way of foreign cheques etc.

If you accept anything in dollars it will cost you to convert it to sterling, possibly as much as £7 for a US dollar cheque. Many MOs and the US equivalent of postal orders can only be cashed in the US, so that can be problematic.

I can't see what to suggest that won't involve you in extra time and expense. However, it is the buyers problem not yours as they were th eones that failed to read your auction listing correctly.

Thanks very much, is it just a case of paying it into my bank like a cheque?

Thanks, she's in Belgium and a newbie buyer with 0 feedback, so in a perfect position not to proceed unless I accomodate her. I would like to get rid of the item so not sure how best to proceed.

Western Union? Would probably be cheapest and easiest, no risk to you all the risk on her.

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea why i decided she was in the US  (I obviously need more caffeine).

In that case suggest bank transfer to her as it is very common in Europe, but make sure she understands that she must send you sterling and pay *all* the fees herself.

It should be fairly easy for her to do a bank transfer from Belgium - make sure she gets it transferred into sterling at her end though, so you don't get charged commission.

You'll need to give her your IBAN - International Bank Account Number. NatWest put them on statements now, don't know about other banks, but they'll be able to give it to you if they don't print it each month.

Just be a bit cautious with bank transfers. Abbey, for one, seems to charge to receive international sterling transfers even if the sender has agreed to pay all fees - they blame this on intermediate banks. Might be worth checking with your bank first. We received a payment of £31.45 from Germany and were credited with well under £30. You could ask your buyer to post cash in Euros if you can use it on holiday later.
