Advice needed

Ok incoming wall of text.

So me and my girlfriend live seperatley. I live in rented accom and I'm in full time work, and she also lives in rented accom with her daughter and works part time/claims benefits. The house I was staying at was burgled so I moved into her house for a few weeks. Now we should have declared this and as we didn't, she has had to go for an interview with the council and it looks like we will be getting a fine. :(

So today she has another letter from tax credits and that she is being investigated for that as she has a partner. I moved back into my house last month. Am I financially responsible for my partner and her daughter as it seems a little crazy that as we don't live together I should be paying towards there cost of living/nursery ect.

This is pretty much it and as you can understand my girlfriend is a little upset and worried that she is going to get another fine/lose some benifits.

Thanks

During the few weeks you were living together she should have notified tax credits etc and changed to a joint claim, changing back to a single claim again when you moved out.

You're supposed to notify all changes of circumstances when claiming benefits.
