Building regulations inspection

I have recently had an extension built on my house. This included a downstairs shower room. It is now ready for the final inspection by the building regulations inspection.
I am interested to know what exactly they will be looking out for, particulaly in the shower room - are they interested only in drainage, will they be turning the taps on to check that there is hot water? - everthing should be fine, I just what to know what the inspection involves.

they will check that everything complies with the current building regulations - drains, electrics., strucutral work etc.0

Yes I know this, I just wondered how practically they do this - eg I guess they turn the taps on to check drainage - I am interested in other people's experiences of these inspections.0

Not sure about inside the house to be honest. With ours it was just at the stage where all the pipework was visible and he said he wasn't happy with one aspect of the design. Of its completed then I presume the pipework is out of sight? In which case I dont think there is much they could do other than turn taps on and maybe fill up sink and drain which shower running?0

is this just the first inspection? usually there are periodic inspections during construction to make sure everything is in order, which should give you an idea what will be required for sign off, they can insist on a pressure test on drainage tooThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Unlikely they will turn the taps on, no point.
they will be looking at ventilation, extract fan fitted? electric certificate? gas? windows up to spec?0 -
Yes this is the final internal inspection. He has already come out once to do the final inspection but he said he couldn't sign us off yet as the bathroom wasn't installed at that stage, and apparently all the sainitary ware in this has to be inspected - there was already an extractor fan in place.0

When i had my final inspection the inspector turned up with a set of drawings and Building regs and just had a good look around. He was only there about 10 mins as he had seen the building go up on the previous visits.Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.0
