TVU player problems

I recently downloaded the TVU player from https://www.viidoo.com, which essentially allows users to access US TV channels through their broadband connection. It should be very easy: all you have to do is click on a channel and wait. In my case, absolutely nothing happens. Nothing immediately apparent springs to mind as to why it fails to work. I run Windows XP and get my broadband through a Netgear 54 Mbps wireless router. I have Norton on board, but even swtiching that off does not allow anything to come through. Could it be the wireless router firewall that is preventing this? I had a look at this, and it is possible to force it to accept downloads from certain sites, but seems to requires a chain of numbers in seveal boxes to do this. Would this be the solution, or am I barking up the wrong tree. Other people seem to have no problems with the player.
