Try finalising the disc in the player. Failing that, try using VLC to open it. It may be a proprietary CODEC in which case you may have no chance.0

I don't intend this to sound condescending, but it probably does, so sorry,
But ... Your PC does have a DVD drive in it doesn't it? Not just a CD one. I'd expect it to have a dvd logo on the front of the tray, if it was.0 -
You need a DVD drive. As said, it should have DVD logo on the front of the tray. If you can't see the tray front, open up Computer or My Computer and look at how it's described there.
You need some kind of software on the PC that will play and allow you to edit the DVD. Usually if a PC is fitted with a DVD drive, a simple player is bundled with the PC. Usually if you want editing software, you have to buy that for yourself.0 -
As Hammyman said have you finalised the disc finalised disc should play but there is a good chance unfinalised ones won't.0

Which is the player that you are using and what are the files that your DVD recorder generated are two important questions that need to be considered. You just need to find out the file type by right clicking it. VLC player plays most of the file types. Whereas there are a host of other players which play specific files.
Try to explore the DVD instead of opening it so that you can see all the files inside it instead of playing it. Let me know if this works out otherwise I am here to help. Please click on the little Thanks button right there below my post. It will make my day.0 -

I am afraid this may not work if you are using a CD drive instead of a DVD drive.Helping others is our responsibility, but thanking others is a virtue. Please click on the Thanks button below if you appreciate my efforts to help you.0
