I have a wireless router (this one I think: D-link DSL-2640R wireless G ADSL Modem router) which was working perfectly with my Windows 7 laptop and Virgin Media ISP. However, yesterday and this morning when I switch on the router, the power light is on and the WLAN in steady or flashing but there is no sign of the ADSL light or the 'internet' light. I've tried switching on and off etc and checked all the cables etc. but am not really sure what to do next... Could it be a problem with the router, as I am still able to connect to the internst with my wired modem on the desktop?
Any suggestions or advice much appreciated!
Thanks

It does sound like it could be the router, if you are still able to get a wired connection to the internet.
I would unplug all the cables again, plug them back in and then restart the router again.0 -
When my Netgear DG834G router crashes (which happens very rarely), it resets its configuration completely. I'm quite annoyed by this as the default settings enable my LAN using DHCP, but also enable the wireless AP with no encryption!!! Quite a security risk if you don't realise what's happened...
Anyway, is it possible that the router's settings have been reset/corrupted?0
