Sorry to hear of your situation and hope all works out OK for you.
Not sure I quite understand though. Do you have two cars and just one insurance policy? Can I help?0 -
Oh i see
So you have fully comp insurance in your husdands name but you thought you could drive any car 3rd party. But as its in your husdands name the 3rd party cover is only for him...
Im sorry to say you willl prob lose your licence now for 12 month and have a fine... You may be lucky and just have points but i would think you will get band... Plus you will have to pay for the damage for the car you was driving and maybe the other car...Filiss0 -
Sorry kid buster, I am finding it really difficult to read your post, due to the lack of punctuation. Are you just a named driver on your husband policy? I thought it was standard practise that the policy holder would be covered to rive any vehicle, but the named drivers are olny covered for that car?
Edit: Just to say sorry I know this doesn't offer any help to your situation!0 -

Actually, it will be more like 6 points and a fine. I can't find the link at the mo, but this is true. A ban is in an extreme case or if the magistrate hasn't had his coffeeWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Agree with wanty. This is not an offence that is going to cause a ban unless there are already 6 - 9 points on the licence but even then it is not going to be 12 months.
Mind you, I couldn't make head nor tail of the opening post. From what I have now unravelled, I read it that the OP was driving a car her husband had acquired but was not the car insured under the policy, meaning that only he was covered to drive it under the DOC extension.0 -

It will be a Magistrate and your driving record, mitigation and attitude will be taken into account. You only have to read our local paper every week to see that the majority of drivers don't get punished at all for the offence if they are convicted for something else at the same time and only get the minimum fine and points otherwise. Hardly surprising it is a problem in our area.0 -

I remember reading about a lorry driver how had accounted 28 points or so in two years but was still driving because he said he would lose his job. Beggers belief really. :rolleyes:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
