Ebay/Paypal Weird Payment Procedure

Hi - I sold 2 seperate items last night, I don't know if the payment procedure has changed but I got:

1) email from ebay saying item sold, as usual
2) Notification payment sayin I have new funds
3) The buyer has sent their payment for the item listed below and it is currently being processed by PayPal. Last is this one.

No funds as yet - is this new system or summit??

Might be a scam, until you have payment in your PayPal I would ignore. What ever you do, do not access your PayPal account via any of these emailed links.

Check in paypal that your funds aren't being held as part of the 21 day/positive feedback hold. The funds will be there but you will not be able to access them. Or that the payment is not an echeque. Only trust what is happening in your account.

    it says on one email:

Simply click the link below and complete PayPal's one-page registration form to claim your money:

You may withdraw your money at any time by making a direct deposit to your bank account.

both buyers have good feedback n history..

  • I can't ever remember an email from Paypal asking to click a link - (and even if they did..I wouldn't), definitely sounds suspicious. As others have said just login to your Paypal account directly and see if any payments are there.

I wouldn't click on any link in an email that could be dubious. What does it say when you log into your Paypal account?

Sounds like you may have entered your paypal email incorrectly on the sell item form.

Is there nothing within your PayPal account with this information?

(As I mentioned before don't ever click on links from a email, if it is gen information it should be within your account).

If no information on the account, email them from the account page.

  • Dont follow the link its a scam. They want you to log in so they can have your details. It may look like paypal but they wouldnt send you a link to log in. This is a way to get into your account. They could buy something from your ebay so then your are expecting funds and will think it guenuine. Then they would send you a fake paypal email and you would click the link to log in and then they have your details.
