I don't know of any Christmas markets, but the Dutch celebrate "Sinterklaas" around 5th December. A magical time for children.
He arrives before, usually entering each town by boat with his helpers. The big event in Amsterdam was last week end. There are more events this weekend.
The shops will be full of goodies only available at this time of year so thet will be the next best thing to a Christmas market.
General shopping information is here.

From the Central Station (where the coach will drop you off) walk down the Damrak passing Bjienkorf the Harrods of Amsterdam (nice to have a look in) to Dam Square, and cross it to the Kalverstraat, the main shopping street. Narrow and pedestrianised.
Shops will be themed on Sinterklaas. At the end you come to V & D department store worth a look in. Their restaurant called "La Place" has a huge variety on a self service basis at reasonable Amsterdam prices. http://www.amsterdam.info/shopping/vd/

I think it took us about 20 mins to walk, but it is so worth it. you may be able to get a tram or something.0
