Filling gaps before painting

Hi there

About to buy a house that has had a substantial amount of replastering done. The door surrounds and skirtings were removed and put back, but there are now fairly substantial gaps where the wood meets the new plaster.

What is the best way to refill these gaps so that I can paint the walls and woodwork?

Easy , get a sealant gun ( £3) and inject some caulk or one of the many gunnable fillers.
    Forgotten but not gone.

There is a word called "Chaulk" however in this case its without the "h" easy mistake to make I normally just call it decorators filler

PS you can buy it cheap at Wilkos for £1 but you need a mastic gun I prefer the Dulux one myself for a little more but lost of companies do there own

    Wilko Sealant Gun

Just looking on youtube for a clip. ( failed)
I was once shown a method on using two sponges to wipe after applying caulk.
With a handy bucket of water , trick was too keep 2nd sponge very clean.

Don't need a sponge , the best tool for this job is your finger with a cloth at the ready.

Yep - it be called caulk. Buy a decent trade brand. Wilcos will be carp. Frame filler ONLY if its 100% paintable.

Don't overfill because thats a waste. Large gaps will require two applications as it shrinks as it dries.

For smoothing just run over it lightly (or you'll just remove it as you go) with a wet paintbrush.

    Cheers
