hi, not entirely sure if this is in the right section
has anyone used the website the recycling factory?
i usually send all my used printer ink cartridges to tesco for recycling to get the 100 clubcard points. went online today to get some more envelopes for it (which you have to order through the recycling factory) and noticed they buy old printer ink cartrdges, and mine is like £4.50 each - and considering i go through quite a few this will soon add up!
looked into how to do it, and straight away they wanted you to sign up and give your bank details which really wasnt sure about - a cheque would be more secure surely
so thought would ask whether anyone had used it before, and could reccommend it
thanks

According to this page they send you a cheque

I would assume they send you a cheque most companies that do recycling for cash send cheques. Wouldn't have thought they would need bank details unless that was an option for the customer to consider. Although eventually when using cheques go out of date im assuming all transactions through businesses will have to be done through automation and businesses like pay pal etc...Every Little helps :rotfl:0

I was going just about to sign up to this recyling site but the fact that I have to give my bank details in order to do so is putting me right off.
Does anybody use them?I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

Hi,
I had used them a couple of months ago.
I opted to get paid my cheque (or you can get paid straight into you bank account).
I sent two cartridges totaling a value of £6.75.
I then received a confirmation email saying my two cartridges had been received and processed, and £6.75 had been credited, but the minimum payout is £10.
So I guess I have to wait until I send another cartridge to find out if they will pay out.0 -
I have used them and had no problems. customer service was good when I had a query0

I use TRF all the time.
I used to be paid by cheque but I have since opted to be paid by BACS.
The minimum payout is £10.
You log on and print out a pre-paid address label and then you just need to box up your cartridges and send them in. You get confirmation a few days later and they send a remittance advice when you are due to be paid.

I have sold my empty cartridges on ebay - think I got over £30 for a pile last time.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

I have had nothing but trouble just trying to get the freepost return envelopes. I have requested them online 3 weeks ago, phoned and told they would be sent again in addition to the first lot. I have just requested them again and will wait and see. I have also let them know this by the email contact facility on their website. I am going to give them another call and also clarify the minimum £10 payment before I commit as I don't recycle lots and it might be several months before getting anything back.0
