How about taking one of those annoying baby-ribbons off the shoulder of one of your tops and using it to thread through the zip? I've done that on some of DD's bags where she's been a bit heavy handed with them
Sometimes I put beads or buttons on to make it look pretty

Thank you all; I found a key ring from a Christmas cracker & have put that on for now. I may need to change the bit on the end but it's working a treat for now!0

I just want to say I bought a sewing machine. My mum used to make my dresses from purchased patterns (Vogue and McCall's) and she says it is not that difficult. I want to give it a try. So far I have only made cloth pantyliners. What would you recommend as a nice project for a beginner?..............................................................................
