Office 2010 but only 32-bit operating system

Hi I wonder if there is any way I can install office 2010 (home & student edition) onto my laptop, I have tried loading the disc but it says I need a 64-bit system and I only have 32-bit, I did have an old edition of office 2003 and removed that as the disc wouldn't load saying one of the 2003 files was corrupt, and I didn't have the original installation disc to repair it, so now I have this 2010 version that I cant load (and I also have two student daughters laptops to load it onto as well) and I dont now have the 2003 edition either!
by the way I have windows vista on the laptop

Any advice would be appreciated but please in layman's terms as you can probably tell I am not computer literate

Does the packaging for the software state that it is x64 (64-bit)only?

If not, did the software happen to come with an extra disc with the x86 (32-bit) version on it or if you go into 'My Computer', right-click on the dvd drive & select open/explore is there an x86 (32-bit) setup file?

Also, do you know whether your daughters laptops are 64 or 32 bit?

No the official packaging does not , I have installed it on my 64 bit Lappy (Win 7 64 bit install) Desktop (Win 7 32 bit install) and it installs in "Program Files(x86)" on 64 bit and "Program Files" on 32 bit, it is also installed there on W7 Starter. The question is it a valid install disc/download ?
