When is the best/worst day of the week to sell shares?

Quite simply the question is "Which is the best day?"

none. You should sell when you want to get your money back. Its all about the price you sell at. Note the offer price is the price you get for you shares. You have to wait 3 days for settlement to go through, once you sell you get the offer price then. If it goes down it won't affect your sale.
  • It's clearly tuesday. I like tuesdays, they smell nice.

Avoid Monday mornings after the weekend tipsters have been busy (unless of course, you plan to sell a share that has been tipped)
  • Never sell on a day of the week that is preceeded by the word black.

The time to sell shares is the minute I buy them :o

You do sometimes find that the overall market goes down on Wednesdays, because that's the day many shares go ex dividend whereupon investors sell.So Wednesdays can be a good time to buy more cheaply.

More anecdotally, and depending on sentiment across the pond, investors sometimes seem to get into positive TGIF mode at the end of the week, and finish on an upbeat note - so Friday can be good day to consider selling.

But it's all pretty hit and miss really.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

    Hi,

You cannot really sell on any day of the week, try my tried and tested WINNING formula.

SELL when High, BUY when low.

    To paraphrase Mark Twain:

"Monday. One of the most troublesome days to trade in stocks. The other days being Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday."
