If you have a new TV being delivered then please remember not to advertise the fact that you have a brand new TV by leaving the empty box on view outside.

Dont worry, I wouldnt do that But I see why many others might. Good advice though.

My new TV arrives in the morning. Anyone know of any ways of securing it to the wall to make it harder to take? Googled it but cant find anything!

Shield anchor bolts can be very strong but it depends on your property how well they will work. Not so good into air bricks and materials like that.

A point to note is that you are limited with what work you can do on the party wall!

You can get alarm that you keep a phone sim in and it text you when it gets set off. You then either head home yourself or get a near by friend to check it out.

You can get IP cams that send out email vids clips without the need for a PC plugged in. Using your BB connection

And other peoples suggestions are good.

TBH securing your property fom being entered is difficult to do unless you resort to shutters. They'll get in if they want it's about
    A) putting people off
    b)Minizeing losses.
    c) Make sure you insured and you don't invalidate it in anyway.

  • General Burglar Alarm Advice

Wireless alarms are as good as wired systems and offer a more flexible installation.
Always have a contact detector on the front and back doors.
Have the control in a location in a central point of the building so you can make use of the internal siren.
Have a system were you can set the entry time to 10 to 20 seconds.
Choose a system with constantly flashing comfort LEDs as a visual deterrent to potential intruders.
Have the working siren facing the most public side of the property.
A dummy siren on the rear of the property. Preferably with comfort LEDs too.
Choose a an system system with a part arming function so it can be set at night.
Have contact detectors on any upstairs windows that have a flat roof outside.
As a very general guide a three bedroom house will have 4 movement detectors 3 downstairs and one on the upstairs landing.
    Thanks
