Laptop advice - best buy for 11 year old daughter

I am buying my 11 year old daughter a laptop for Christmas (mainly so that I can have mine back!)

Can anyone suggest a good one to get (up to £400 - less than £300 though if possible)

She needs it for school work, internet, photos etc.

why not buy a cheaper desktop pc instead it will last longer because the laptop will be droped damaged and have drinks spilt on it

Get a netbook smaller and cheaper and just as good as a laptop . Do you shop at tesco and have you got clubcard vouchers for November ?

No I hate Tesco with a passion...:cool:

When I went into PC World for some 'advice' they told me not get a notebook as they have hardly any memory?

(As you will see I know nothing about anything!)

I think she needs a laptop as she may need to take it places for homework etc. plus she always takes my laptop on holiday
