IVA and child maintenance
Hi. I've just gathered all the info to send off for my IVA and one of the things they requested was details of any child maintenance payments I receive.
My son is 10 and for lots of reasons that I don't want to go into, I have never claimed child maintinance. As I have never been in receipt of any benefits this has never been an issue.
However when I rang my advisor to tell her this she said that my creditors may insist that I apply for it, and that my IVA could fail if I don't.
Unless circumstances have changed considerebly, I imagine that I would be in receipt of minimal payments, if any, and it's a huge can of worms to open.
Please can anyone offer any advice as to how likely it is that this would effect my IVA proposal, or has anyone been in a similar position?
