sat nav advice please

Hello guys,

I am after some advice please, i am looking to buy a new sat nav, it won't be used much and has to be fairly cheap what with crimbo coming up.

i am looking at argos website are any on THIS page any good?
have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

    you can't go wrong with a tomtom start, specs here and you can get it for only £75 at ASDA.

    thanks for the info guys much appreciated as i'm useless when it comes to sat navs i had 1 before and it died on me as i couldn't upgrade the map so it stopped working, don't understand why really

    Seconded - got my better half a tom tom start 2 for her birthday and she really likes it. Simple to use and works really well.

    Are you sure this is the TomTom Start 2 as linked here? That is double the price to what Ada are charging. I think you will find its the older TomTom start

    you're right it is only the tomtom start and not the start2 but looking at the specs of the start the only difference is lane guidance and text-to-speech
  • try ebuyer their own make{Foehn & Hirsch} they have got reasonable reviews and it does UK and western europe.
    if you have got a phone with GPS on it use IGO 8 software on it.
    its very good ive been using it for years.

    been using the second link for a number of years, only updated to a newer TomTom map last night
  • Morrisons are selling the Navman M30 for under £30.
    UK and Ireland maps, safety camera warnings and lane indication.
    Well worth the wonga.

    What map locations do you require? I've had a Tomtom 910 for a long time and I am not going to need N America etc but the hard drive capacity, connection to mobile make it good for me and if you search for a second hand one you can get at a really cheap price.
