Visiting Agaba

We're visiting Agaba in Jordan in a few weeks on a Red Sea cruise. We've been to Petra before so are just going to have alook around Agaba. Can anybody tell me if you can spend Euro's, US dollars or English pounds there, or do you have to get some local currency?

Most of the hotels will take US Dollars. If you haven't been before a trip to Wadi Rum is well worth it...
