The next idea I have is to contact local social clubs that might have crockery that you could borrow for a weekend for a small price??Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! It doesnt sound like a massive saving but we were quoted 60p hire for each napkin so essentially £60 for 100. Its cheaper to buy quality disposable ones (Swantex or dunilin) and my mum who used to work in catering actually prefers them. I have my eye on some on ebay which are £7.99 for 50- quite a big saving. I am using the cheaper diposable ones for the evening buffet.
Glasses can be hired free from Most supermarkets including Sainsburys and tescos and for a charge from some off licence chains. Also check out freecycle, I am based in Reading and there have been a few adverts for free glasses in large quantities recently!
I am having to hire in everything, our cutlery and crockery is 12p each. Champagne glasses 14p each. all other glasses 12p. Tablecloths (square/rectangular) £4.60 each. (all plus VAT). this is through our caterers but I have checked around and they are cheaper than anywhere else.0 -

That's a lot cheaper than I can get it from the event hire companies here - 22-26p per piece. They want 91p for each napkin - that seems loads! I'm not paying £63 for napkin hire! Freecycle is a good idea.0
