npower billing me twice on a prepay meter

Hi forum, long time listener, first time caller.

I moved into a new flat in September, with npower providing gas through a prepay meter and card. As we all hate those sorts of meters, I swiftly changed to British Gas, who offered to put in an economy 7 meter free of charge at the end of October (npower wanted £300 off me for it!). A week before the big switch, npower sent me another prepay card and told me to stop using the old one, and so I did.

I've now received a bill from npower for £60, despite being on a prepay meter previously! After calling them, they've said this was to cover the bill between moving in at the start of September and them sending me a second card a week before I cut my ties with them, as the card was in the old account holder's name, despite calling them up on the day I moved in to get the name account changed!

Help!:eek: How do I convince npower that I've already paid for the gas? It's a flipping pre-pay meter!

I just managed to find one and called them up to ask how to get it to them. The lass on the end then checked the old owner's account and wiped the slate clean!:beer: The person beforehand refused to do that for confidentiality reasons, but maybe I lucked out this time

Hi Skaface - Whoa. You had a prepayment meter for Gas with n'power, and have now changed to ECO7 meter which covers Elect. only, from BG ?
I'm afraid it doesn't make sense, please re-post
