Ceramic/Halogen Hob and Kitchenware Help

Hi guys,
Just a quick question for my sister.
She has just taken delivery f a new cooker after moving into her first house. She has a cooker with a Black/Brown glass type surface and she has bought some pans already that have started to "burn" the glass, lol.
I am unsure as to whether it is ceramic or halogen top. She doesnt know the make nor model either so cannot google it and it is fitted now.
Just wondering what type of pans she will need to get now as she has stopped using the other ones. Can I safely assume too that by the "glass" hob it is either ceramic or halogen? I am leaning more to halogen. The rings light up straight away and give instant heat and regulate it by going black again and then lighting up again at intervals to maintain the heat.
Just wanted to know what type of saucepans. Lookingto get some from Amazon tonight so speedy replies would be grateful

Hi a ceramic hob is the same as halogen, most ceramic hobs will have a halogen ring built into them (it's a ring that basically heats up faster).
The only other type of hob it could be is an induction hob which requires special pans (magnetic bases) otherwise the hob will not work.
I have a ceramic hob and am not aware of any spoecific pan requirements. I use the Anolon anodised pans on mine. If there is any food debris even water on the hob this will leave a burn mark but is easily cleaned off. Hob brite is an absolute godsend but I tend to only use it once a week and just wipe over with a cloth in between times. Sometimes more stubborn marks need scraping of with a ceramic hob scraper which is just basically a thin razorblade that doesn't damage the hob.
Hope this helps.0 -
any help would be appreciated, i cleaned my ceramic hob with flash bleach spray and left on it all day by accident ~(got called out) now its all blotchy and have tried hobrite etc and it will not come off. have i totally ruined it? any ideas would be gratefulTop wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0

I would try and contact the manufacturer to see what they could suggest. The other option is to try something like the HG hob cleaner. I've not used it myself but their other cleaning products I have used have been brilliant so may be worth a go. I also use just a plain spray bottle of water and an e cloth to finish mine off after I've cleaned it. Good luck.0
