            Thanks
I am amazed! Due to breaking the crate (and him being a little clingy- how dare we leave the room lol) he slept in his little bed in my room.stayed in there no problem and slept right through the night apart from waking to see if I was there.Didn't leave his basket and didn't wake for business as I thought he would!I was expecting to be up a few times during the night for a trip to the garden but no!!! As soon as he woke up this morning took him straight out to the garden on his lead :-) If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Sounds great but is that where you want him to sleep always? Cos if not it can be a very big habit to break in the future, start as you men to go on and all that.
He is so cute!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Very cute. As long as you don't give up on training it should go fine. Puppy training classes are a great way to teach him the basics and get him used to other dogs. You can build on the basics from there!

no it's not,but was needed last night due to crate breaking.would rather have a habit to break than risk having the house trashed or something lolIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

To be honest we crate trained. He howled for a week. We spent one night downstairs with him and he never howled again. I think he thought we left the house when the lights went off.
Nowdays though he sleeps upstairs with us. He sleeps at bottom of bed but if he gets cold he nuzzles my shoulder to lift the quilt and snuggles under. This of course not ideal for everyone but i love it and he has been a lot happier.
One thing to be careful of is treating any wees etc with treats. We did this to train and took ages to stop it. Occasionally now he still trots back in and goes to the treat cupboard lol.
Wish i had a pup again lolBaby Girl Born May 2011Baby Boy Born Nov 2012

He's lovely! Beagles are such happy, affectionate dogs - but they will find food, wherever it is - including the bins (which we don't have in the house any more lol!)
We have a 5 year old rescue girl we've had for 6 months - wouldn't be without her now! But beware, they are stubborn, we had the night time issues about where she should sleep - her bed started off at the end of ours but she drags it to my DH's side of the bed so she can gaze at him as she falls off to sleep, and so she can look at him as she wakes (he's her favourite!)
Beautiful dogs, hope you have many happy years with Snoopy!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
