Dual Fuel Cooker, are they good?

Gonna get possesion of my new house hopefully next week. The first thing i'm finalizing is the cooker, it's shame that i have only 50cm space in the kitchen so haven't got choice for bigger cookers. We want gas hob for sure but for oven i've heard electric ovens are good so thinking to go for dual fuel one with conventional oven, are they really good?
I've short listed Indesit KD3G11SXG Dual Fuel Cooker as it's within my budget £300 with some decent reviews. Is there any other good one in the same range?

Many Thanks
Faraz

  • If I told you in our last home, which does not have mains gas, we went to the trouble of getting pipes through the kitchen wall to outside so we could use bottles of gas- would tell you how good?

Gas is brilliant because it is instant heat and easy to control because you can use sight to determine how much heat you are using rather than have to learn the individual cooker's controls (iyswim?). Also gas is brilliant when using a wok.

For an oven though? Gas is not brilliant as it does not provide an even heat. A fan oven is brilliant and is what I would always go for. Also if you get a fancy oven you can set timers, get rapid heat up and all sorts (not sure this is possible for a gas oven- I've never seen it anyway).

Basical dual fuel is where it's at baby!
  • Thanks for that, yeah thats what i found as well. But i couldn't find any fan assisted dual cooker in my 50cm limit :(
    Any recommendation?
