Pay & Display Machine Clocks

Yesterday I parked in a council car park and noted the ticket machine time was 2 minutes slow.

Today, in a hospital car park, the machine was 5 minutes slow.

Just enough time to write a PCN. Worth a check next time you buy a Pay & Display ticket....!

  • if the times not correct on the machine then this is grounds in itself to cancel the ticket

Well you don't need to worry about the hospital one to much as they are run by a PPC which issues tickets that are unenforceable, if they catch you ;)

The council one could leave you short though, and I think people have had successful appeals with it!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

How do you define what's correct and what's not though? Your watch could be wrong, and the P&D machine correct. For the sake of 2-5 minutes, I'd imagine there's some leway.

Luckily yes as it was council, PPC then that's well over

    Easy, radio controlled time.

Nice to think there's some leeway, but I wouldn't hold my breath!

Certainly worth checking a (council) machine if you get a ticket.
