Hi All
TRIXIE, don't beat yourself up about it we all have blips, mine seems to have lasted about 5 years so far! Keep resolving to sort things out but just seem to dig myself in deeper and deeper!
The latest blip is that we are getting a puppy! We weren't looking but some gorgeous chocolate labs have simply fallen into our laps and I firmly believe things happen for a reason! Our house is sooo empty since our dear black lab was pts and we are all really excited about the prospect of the new arrival. DH is currently trying to 'puppy proof' the house and garden prior to arrival at the end of July. Of course this is a MAJOR unplanned expense but when you consider the years of unconditional love that lie ahead it is a total bargain! I am aiming to sell on Faceb@@k, eb@y and car boots to add to the 'Puppy Pot'.
I have been really careful with grocery shopping and have my £10 off Payday Bonus to use this week so will also get the petrol coupon for DH again. I did place a small order with T@sco but only to get the bargain Finest wines (about £2 per bottle), ordered 12 but only got 6 delivered, probably for the best!
I have bought some swim wear as I have a real problem finding something that fits nicely as I have 'ample bossoms' and following all the surgery need something I feel comfortable in! I have discovered that L@pel fit me beautifully and I have managed to buy some from ebay shops for a fraction of the RRP, have got 2 cossies and a bikini for the price of one. Just debating whether to declare it on the Crazy Clothes Challenge! I'm thinking not as they are 'fitness wear' and will last years so more of an investment purchase! I will also be listing some swimwear items that I have that were not good purchases for me and have not been worn so that, hopefully, will make the new stuff 'cost neutral'.
It's payday today and I have made an additional £450 payment off of my credit card and hope to pay more later in the month but will have to wait and see as we have an expensive month ahead. I have added loads to the credit card over the last month, vet bills, train tickets, hotels etc and am hoping to recoop some money from DS1 towards this which will be paid straight to the credit card.
Anyway, that's me caught up, sins confessed etc!
Have a lovely day everyone and TRIXIE don't leave it too long to come back to the fold!!!!

Wow, lots has been happening with you hunny, So sorry to hear about your doggie, it's such a loss when a four legged member of the family has to make their journey to fluffy clouds & springtime pastures.
Lovely news about the new addition to the family, it always fills the emptiness that is left behind & every animal is as individual as we are so it will be lovely for you all to welcome in & get to know and love a fur baby
As for moi !!, i've updated my signature (Booooooooooo) but its same ole, same ole - who have i got to blame blah de blah - i think i need to find myself a rich man, not sure what DH would have to say about it though :rotfl:
Off on holiday next week, its one of the newspaper breaks but we've upgraded ( we've done it a few times before and always had a lovely time) so cost has been kept to a minimum as it's in term time (expecting to find a fine from secondary school on my door mat on my return as i've notified them of holiday!!) - spends will have to be kept to a minimum but really looking forward to getting away from the daily pressures!!
Massive wow too regarding your extra £450 payment off of your credit card, WOOOO HOOOO well done you!!!!
Once back from hols i'm going to crack on with the ebaying & if anything stays still too long in my house it will be listed, lol!!! - will aid with the ongoing clearout & also hopefully make a few pounds to pay off CC's!!! - i sway between thinking there's no point selling items for just 99p but then at other times i think well if i sell 40 things for 99p then it all adds up, oh i don't know!!!
Hope all ok with you my friend - 'speak soon' xx

Hi All
TRIXIE - it's so good to have you back my friend, I have missed our 'chats'! Don't beat yourself up about the credit cards etc, at least you are aware of the situation, you have some on 0% and are facing up to it all. LOL re the rich man, I could so have been a lady that lunches, infact my 1st serious b/f regularly flies his private plane to Cannes for lunch or Monte Carlo for the Grand Prix!! Ah well!!
The holiday sounds great, just what you need and frugal so no need to feel guilty about it. We all need down time and time with our families away from the pressures of home life. As for the school fining you that is one of my real bugbears! It is not possible for everyone to take holidays within the school holidays, for many reasons, financial, logistical etc. My kids have great attendance records but others in their classes have days off nearly every week, I think a sensible view should be taken, if the kids has good attendance then a weeks holiday is not too much to ask and in fact can be a valuable educational experience in itself. There, I'll climb down from my soapbox now, but it really does p*** me off!
I know what you mean re ebaying at 99p, I often think is it really worth the effort, packaging, going to the Post Office, dealing with unfair feedback etc. My favourite car boots are starting the middle of this month so really hoping the weather lasts and I will manage to do a few and clear some of our clutter, will all help towards the cost of the puppy (by the way we are seeing them again tonight - very excited!!).
Thank you re £450 payment but considering how much I've put on my cards lately it's a drop in the ocean (in fact I think I need to update my signature with latest figures), I will keep plugging away though!
Right I must go (at work!), have a great day

Grumble, grumble, ,drag heels, moan, grumble - wandering through on first day back to work after a gorgeous week away, Tut (:D)Good Morning lovely lady, well needless to say the holiday is fast becoming a distant memory as back at work today (can't really complain as i love my job and the immediate people i work with and it also pays the bills so i am grateful for all of that!)My girlies are only at school now for just over a week before the school hols begin and i can't wait - i love having them home & no school runs for 6 weeks YAY YAY YAY - not so sure about the extra expense over the weeks though!!, every year i remember (usually about a week before they start) that i should have budgeted a bit extra ahead of the hols, bit late now!!! - oh well, lots of freebie days out i guess, parks, museum, beach, meeting up with friends (although mine & my friends 'latte' habit can get a bit expensive, think i'd better get the flask out!!)Starting back at SW tonight  - ( i asked to be referred by weight management nurse so have 12 weeks free !! ), although i'm quite tall the reality is i still have 4 stone of extra baggage hanging around and i think my baby weight excuse is wearing a little thin in light of DD2 being 10 in a couple of weeks :rotfl:As for finances - well a bit of an expensive week with hols but it had been budgeted for and we came back with enough to cover a couple of expenses due in August which is good although the car has started making a bit of a funny noise so that has to be checked this week and i do wonder whether the best laid plans of the money being put away may have to be used for the car!!! - as DH said yesterday, we seem to take one step forward & 5 back - oh well hopefully it's something minor (fingers, toes and everything else crossed
)
Back to ebaying this week - i only need to sell probably 4500 99p items to clear our debts, shouldn't take long, lololololol !! - the scary thing is, i wouldn't be at all surprised if there isn't 4500 items in the attic that could go ( attic's getting a tad scary again!!)Oh and was really despondant yesterday doing food shopping, seems to be harder to stretch the budget week on week and the knock on effect of overspending one week and having less the next week is proving most challenging - i really do have to get back to cooking/baking more again but my time management skills are obviously rather rubbish!!:cool:How are things with you & yours hunny?? - i'm right with you on the soap box regarding school holiday fines, DD2 Primary is a bit of a village school & they never fine but DD1's Secondary school pretty much always do and similarly to yourself both of my girls have excellent attendance as they have to be REALLY ill for a day off!! - will have to wait & see if the fine arrives this week!!
Enough of my waffling!!! - have a good day & speak soon xx

Hi All
Trixie, hope you are still feeling the benefits of your holiday and that the dreaded fine didn't arrive!!
You sound so like me in so many ways. My DD is 10 this weekend and I too have about 4 stone to loose!! Have put on another stone whilst I have been ill and done zero exercise for ages. I am hoping to get fitter by walking the puppy (starting with little walks and building them up) DD wants to start running but not sure I'm built for that (the aforementioned ample bossoms!!), I'll give it a go!
Food shopping is another bane of mine too. I try to keep to about £40pw, buying meat and fish when its reduced/on special offer. We buy 'value' where possible BUT not tea or coffee. I am lucky in that the kids are not fussy so I can create meals from pretty much anything (pasta is my friend, anything goes with pasta plus a sauce of either tinned toms or value soft cheese!). We have cereal or toast for breakfast (the kids actually prefer the 'value Weetabix' to the branded stuff), packed lunches and a cooked evening meal. I'm currently loving the Morrisons Payback Scheme, especially as you now get the discount on the third shop!
My account is looking dire at the moment, awaiting maintainence and CHB so they will tide me over for the rest of the month (10 days).
We have DDs birthday this weekend and have planned our annual big family bbq but the weather is looking horrendous so may have to call it off. Her presents are all sorted, I've been buying ever since Christmas, infact some may be kept for next Christmas!
No other money saving news, I've started buying puppy pads etc in expectation of our new arrival, just the puppy to pay for now!!
Have a great day

Hey lovely,
Just checking in uber quickly (so you know i've not dissappeared again!!)
Really busy at work so will pop in again shortly with full round up ( lucky you:rotfl:)
The car is broken at the mo, so giving us lots of stress as to what to do for the best plus general finances are absolutely shocking but i'm feeling surprisingly upbeat (have no clue why as we really are up against it) - have really got to get ebaying as now have no choice!!!
will check in soon - hope all ok with you xx

Well, can hardly believe the first week of the school hols is over & we're starting week two!!My payday today (Thankfully, i'm sure these months are getting longer!!
), DH's is last day of the month, so by the end of the week the bank balance should be looking healthier!!
DD2's party went really well, she had a great time (although i shall be speaking with the venue this week as they blagged the fact they weren't really expecting us (the date had been changed and even though i had checked twice that all paperwork had been updated & been assured all was fine they still hadn't moved the booking!!)Actually started a bit of ebaying last week, have only managed to put 2 things on at the mo (bit rubbish i know:cool:) but sold one for £10 & the other currently has a bid of £3 with a few watchers, definately makes it more worthwhile if you make more than 99p!!! - last night began sorting some more bits and bobs to put on this week, even if i get one thing on per night at least that will be 7 by the end of the week!! - i'll see if i can keep it up!!Food shopping this evening, so trying to sort menu planner ahead of time, always more difficult in the summer hols as our plans seem to frequently change, but this year they have to change in favour of eating at home rather than KFC or McD's!!
SW going well, lost 7.5 lbs last week, i just couldn't believe it when i got on the scales!!!, I'll let you know how i get on this week (doesn't feel as though i've lost much if anything at all)Oh and as for the car, the bit of money we had left over from holiday will now be being used on the car which needs a huge job doing on it, the rest will be going on CC, so one step forward and all that!!!!Oh well, could be worse!! - as much as i would love my debts to just disappear i am so truly grateful for all the lovely people & positive things i do have in my life :T
Have a good day xxxxAnyway, must hop off & sort shopping list!!, hope all good with you & yours hun xx

Hi All
Trixie, sorry to hear about your car expenses, they always crop up at the most inconvenient times! Glad to see you are remaining positive though.
My DD also had a lovely birthday, the forecast for the bbq was horrendous so we cancelled it, then it picked up a couple of hours later so we rang everyone, I went and got the food etc, came home and at the time we had told everyone to arrive the heavens opened!!!! Luckily everyone was late and within 30mins the rain stopped and the sun re-appeared so it was all ok in the end. I had all her presents put away, bought in the sales, she had about £150 of goodies for about £50!
I am aiming to be frugal with food shopping this month, the freezers are full etc. I froze the unused bbq food so we are ok for a bbq or two when we have our 2 weeks off. Not going away as DH is having a repeat op on his hand (didn't work first time). Anyway we can't afford to as we are getting the puppy at the weekend! Can't wait!! Trying to puppy proof the house at the moment.
We have sold our old trailer tent as we will not be using it again, haven't used it for 2 years, the lady that has bought it is really thrilled so it has gone to a good home.
Dh has changed his car as he does a 50 mile round trip to work and wanted something more economical, got a Golf, £30 a year road tax and about 65mpg, should pretty much pay for itself in the money he is saving!
I am going to try and do some carboot sales when we are on holiday, there is a local one on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, hopefully the weather will be good and I will clear some of our clutter!
Well that's about it, no other news,
Take care and enjoy the sunshine
