Haven't had to apply for tax credits for years due to being with hubby and us always getting the minimum amount. We have split and i decided to call them to see if i was entitled to anymore and have just submitted some figures.
I am self employed and employed so have given them the figures for these but was asked for my net profit from my self employed work and gave them the profit amount on my self assesment form..is this right? is this the amount with my expenses etc taken off? Im thinking so and hope so as really dont want an overpayment situation on my hands!
Also what happens with now..i earn more than i did when those figures were submitted and need to work out how much do i do this as a yearly amount? when do i call them to tell them this as just mentioned it and they said to update when this claim has gone through?
Thanks

Yes.. net profit is income less deductable expenses. You can ring them and adjust the figure if its likely to be more or less than you said.0
