Cash in company pension?

On the contrary, I do point out postive ideas to help. Here is one: stop being so !!!!!!! lazy and show some gumption. Educate yourself. If you can find your way to this forum, you can do a bit of research on your pension. It aint freaking rocket science; it's called taking some responsibility for your future.
There, does that help?
How would this work in practice? Do you simply take a stupid lazy person and shout loudly at them that they are stupid and lazy and by magic they suddenly become an inquisitive, engaged human being with a higher IQ? Make sure you keep all the rights to this idea - the Department of Education will be all over it!How would you solve the obesity problem? Stand in ASDA calling people fat, greedy b*****ds?
On the obesity question - yes. That would be a good tactic.
I had an inkling that this might be your approach.
Internet forums and real life are not the same. If you call someone stupid on an internet forum they'll take the hump and the worst they will do is put an angry looking smiley next to their reply. (That showed you!)
Calling people fat, greedy b*****ds in ASDA will not make you the next Green Goddess. It's likely to have an altogether less happy ending especially as, and I don't know if you've been to ASDA lately, the greedy, fat b*****d whose weight loss you are trying to 'encourage' is likely to be surrounded by people to whom a BMI of 30 is pie (pun intended) in the sky.0 -
As for paperwork, here is a copy and past of what it says in the short key features document under risks (on first page and in clear text) for an FP pension....
A pensions is a long term investment. you cannot normally access your pension savings until you are age 55 (50 before 5 April 2010)
And therein lies the problem - the implication is that there are some situations when you can access your pension savings.
Someone desperate for money might wonder if they are in the "not normal" group.
And then ask the question.
No excuse for not using the search but lots of people are familiar with google but not so familiar with fora.
I'd love a sticky - just so I don't have to waste my time reading bendix et al being rude and unhelpful, if I've read it once I've read it 100 times and if, considering what he's complaining about, that's not irony I'd like to see what is.0 -
Just popped back here - amazed at some of the vitriol that is here!
Yes, I should have googled the question, but is that a reason to give me both barrels?
I'm actually in the top 25% as far as IQ is concerned, so please don't be ignorant enough to make the assumption I am thick. Lazy, yes. Thick, no.
However, I would challenge back on one thing - if it is the "most commonly asked question", why ISN'T there a sticky on the first page? After all, you guys all have the intelligence to log on, find this website, post lots of helpful responses to people, etc., so why not have the gumption to stick your hand up and say "Erm, Mr MSE Moderator - please could we put a sticky on the first page of this forum as we're getting asked a couple of questions quite regularly"......0 -
???
It *is* a sticky. Look at the top of the Pensions board.import this0 -
Chef, I am thinking you need to lower your estimation of your IQ lol.
If you look on the top of the page, there is a new(ish been around a while) sticky created with those of you who cannot or will not search in mind ;-)0 -
Chef,
OK its a sticky and you did not notice, but I agree this does not make you thick, possibly unobservant. But most people who have the intellect you claim are capable of putting the same question into a search engine which gives the answer quite quickly, thus enabling them to post a question that is more fitting to their intellect.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
It wasn't back in 2010 at the time the question was originally asked and it's perhaps understandable if ChefBungle didn't look again to see that the sticky post is the first topic in this section.Chef, I am thinking you need to lower your estimation of your IQ lol.
