Carpet Underlay for cold room (above garage)?

Hello,

we are living in a new built, and our guest bedroom is above the garage. Unfortunately this room is much colder then the rest of the house, which is probably due to the cold garage beneath it.

Now I was thinking about putting down some underlay. The carpet is currently just put down on the concrete floor (i.e. not taped and typical new build cra* job. :().

What underlay would be recommended to keep out the cold from the garage? I was thinking about Cloud 9 (11mm), which I have seen recommended a few times. And can it usually be done by myself, or does it need professional fitting?

Regards,
dsab

I would suggest the best thing to do is make sure there is adequate insulation underneath, put in a false ceiling if required.

    Agree with latecomer.

You need to get some decent insulation to put beween the roof joists in the garage (if they are exposed).
