I downloaded IE 7 and it looks lovely, nice to use.
Then tried to use my dvd rewriter and it was registering as a dvd rom drive!
Fiddled around for ages and then just restored back to pre IE7 installation and dvd drive is fine now.
I realise IE7 should not do anything to a dvd drive, so I assume it was probably me and something I did, (I am still learning, though fast!) but I would love to know how that happened
I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0 -
itn wrote:Hi, I installed it yesterday evening, and after installation everytime i opened up my browser i kept getting a windows error message and kept shutting down, so much for the new browser. I had to install firefox so that i could get back on the net and revert back to explorer 6, which works fine. Also i have some sort of trojan which has a pop saying my comp is at risk and it has now changed my homepage to a deadlink on yahoo. I have norton protection which keeps picking up a dialler, generic, i have also scanned using norton, also adaware also skybot, and yday i even used the microsoft defender, but none seem to be able to remove it.

Not me. I keep my pc highly protected. I've never had a major virus attack or hacking attempt which has penetrated my pc throughout all the years.0
