Nevertheless, I had never heard of this before and i, for one, am pleased to be made aware of it. Ok, it may be old hat however in this day and age the murkier side of the internet etc often raises its nasty little head and, for the likes of me (of the older generation and maybe a wee bit too trusting) I am thankful for any warnings that are given, however out of date they may be. xx

made aware of what? you havent been aware of anything except history.
it doest exist.however another scam maybe lost in the (and there will be) multiple posts of this in the run up to christmas

I just have to say that we are not all au fait with modern technology and the pitfalls there may be. It must be frustrating for some who are experts in the field but for those of us who are not and just finding our way, it is most welcome that we get warnings etc for which i am most thankful. Its just the sign of the times. I for one am really grateful for any help I can get. I must thank forum members for helping me in the past when i 'wasn't sure'. Right - im off now to do what i do best - burning the dinner!! xxx

To someone who's trying to do good, you're doing little to help encourage that. You could have said it a million different ways, but you chose to write something insulting. Imagine how you'd feel if you wrote a post to warn other people of potentially big scam and instead other posters swear at you and throw it back in your face. I agree that it may cause great worry to many people, but others have already pointed out this outdated scam and you've done nothing but add pointless abuse. I'm sure you mean well, don't get me wrong, but people should feel welcome at this forum and not be put off because they were trying to help.

Im no expert.this could be about doorstep callers,instore scams or whatever
the pertinent point is its defunct but is brought up every year
sometimes by people and organisations that should know better

well who knows what others post
but with the likes of these non scams getting posted then who knows what folks will miss
i mean its history as the system used and number used doesnt exist (see post 20)
so it is and will remain history
its like me posting that dodos should be careful of hunters

Your just talkin utter rubbish now,the post was there to help people,the poster isnt new and looks legit...you was rude..no ifs no buts whatever you think about the post you was rude!
