Hi all, or should I say good morning as it is so late/early?
Has anyone had the OT for Warwickshire assess them at home, if so how do I contact them?
Is the OT at the hospital the same person?
I really need help with a bed that can aid my sleep, laying down and getting up every five minutes is going to get me divorced as the misses is getting no sleep and then I will up a gum tree.
Just ordered some soft pads for my crutch handles, thanks to the poster who helped there with a great link.
I need further help please.
1. A matteress for someone who has had two back operations and awaits another, one that allows me to lay on my side and rest the hypersensitive nerve on the inside of the leg
2. Advice on how to permanently obtain a wheelchair that will allow me to be able to go around the shops for once. Sone the one from DIAL, but they are ahort term.
Any help appreciated with links too!

My OT in hospital was not the same, but they referred me to the council's REACH system which included OT help. Actually they even travelled out of borough as initially as I wasn't able to look after myself and moved into my brother's family's tender care for 5 months.
They were very helpful when I moved back home and provided me with some equipment to help me live independently. They also had counselling included in their services (can't say that worked out, but I'm sure it's useful for some).
Anyway found this link for you.

On the other link for padded crutch handles, was it this one? http://www.essentialaids.com/crutches-crutch-accessories-1395-0.html
I haven't got around to getting any yet, so would appreciate feed back when you get them and let me know which type you chose.
Sorry no help on your other queries but OT seems like a sensible first contact point.Just in case you were wondering (some have)..... I'm a woman!0 -
I was referred by my GP a few years back as urgent.
OT's can sort out mattresses and other aids needed at home. I have a special mattress to stop me getting too many bed sores and its very good.
Your GP can refer you for a wheelchair locally. This can take a good few months, unless you are noted as priority.
My OT was great and we went from room to room and she offered what was available. I only took what I would use though and wasnt greedy. They also provided special cutlery and cup that have been a god send. Make a list of things needed and ask when they visit. OT's do have very tight budgets and its a bad time of year as its over half way through their financial year.
Good luck.
