Wrapping gifts in brown paper

I managed to rescue lots of lovely thick brown paper from work that was destined for the bins and had an idea in my head to wrap the adults presents tastefully in it. Last year I'm sure I saw some photo's on here of exactly that and wanted to get some ideas but I can't find them now.
Can anyone help me or if you've wrapped your presents up in brown paper would you like to share your ideas with me?

I used raffia to tie them, and used large luggage tags as the labels, decorated with dried berries/leavesLoving the sunny days!0

Hi
I used brown paper last year for all my presents.
Some of them, I used tartan ribbon on the parcel, and some I used nice rafia - the ones I used with rafia, I also put on some cinnamon and dried orange which made it smell lovely!
I also got some lovely little Santa angel magnets from Ebay and put them on too.

How did you manage to attach the cinnamon and orange? This sounds lovely.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
I tie mine with rafia and also have used rustic garden twine which is really cheap.0

i use driend lemon slices (and orange)
to decorate parcels at christmas
and jars of lemon curd etc
its easy to make a hole before drying
i push a metal skewer through (and wiggle a liitle:D)0 -
i always use brown paper
lst year i managed to find some really cheap tree decs which were holly & berries and tied the gifts with raffia and decorated with these.
this year i will use raffia again - i have found some wooden letters (initials of my relatives) and covered them with traditional paper to use instead of name tags.0 -
By coincidence, I blogged (in usual place
) about stamping on brown paper yesterday whilst it was still on the roll (but rolled out).
Liked SallyUK's idea of using round stickers to decorate too.

I seem to remember seeing something about wrapping and different ways of doing it on a thread a while back......thought I'd saved it but can't find it. It was on someone's blog (I think) and parcels had been wrapped in brown paper with red and black ribbon done in a very 'modern' way..........looked really good. Could kick myself now for not saving itI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
