group going to Gatwick airport - how to get there cheapest pos way...

Mate was going to take us but his minibus is dead and won’t be fixed by the time we go. A group of 9 people. Check in is at 7:25. Leaving from the outskirts of inner London. Tube/train is just far too expensive and would involve changes, lugging suitcases etc will be cold and will be no fun with a couple of kids.
Only option I can think of is hire a van/minibus but they seem to be coming up at an expensive price of £100+ and that’s for a galaxy or zafira. I'd get my mate to take us. unless the drop off is cheap enough at the airport which at the moment isn't.
Cabs £75 x2. for 7 seater.
Easyjet bus around £70 - though we would have to get to the pickup point meaning it'll cost nearer the price of hiring so I can't see no benefit there either.
Any other options?

Might help if you give people a clue as to where the "outskirts of inner London" actually is - perhaps give us the nearest Tube / train station.0

Having to be there for a 7.25 check-in you're going to be leaving at 5am approx at the latest, screwed for the underground or trying to get across London without using a cab to Victoria either for the Gatwick express or coach station, the cost of getting there plus the train/coach fare makes it probably cheaper to cab it all the way. The coach leaves Victoria at 3.30, take a cab and have an extra hour in bed.
Cab or drive yourself and long term parking is about your only options that don't mean serious inconvenience, splitting costs 7 ways (I assume you won't charge the kids) doesn't make it that much, does it?0 -
Might pay you to buy a family rail card -and use Southern trains NOT Gatwick Express-takes 10 minutes longer max and is cheaper.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

As closure my mate got his minibus going again

The choices were:
Rent a minibus 12 seater, found a decent place that did it for £99 all in. Though I would of had to have got my mate to take us.
tube / train out due to expense & departing times
cab from home to airport.0
