Hello
Im about to move house and the phne socket is in the hallway. Not a great place to use my laptop!
As such i want to go wireless but havent got a clue. I went into PC world today and the guy who i spoke to just baffled me.
I know my PC is wireless enabled so what do i actually need to buy?And how much approx would it be
Thanks

If you are on broadband, a wireless router.
NTL/Telewest .. A Cable/DSL wireless broadband router.
BT phone .. An ADSL wireless router

Note that you can still get a router however you also need to get a modem. I have looked into this option for ADSL and its double the price of the gateway.0

That is just a gateway. Gateway is a modem and a router in one unit. I was taking about a router and then a modem two different units.
The term Gateway is used by Linksys but its the same thing as modem/router.0 -
i also recommend this router as it is very easy to setup and securealikat wrote:Not exactly you can get a modem/router, mine came from aol & is netgear DG834g & is around £50 on Amazon & about £10 cheaper, on Ebay with BIN.0
