Can you calculate my electric/gas usage please?

I've had the newsletters from Martin urging people to switch suppliers. I haven't lived in this property for 12 months yet so I'm unable to calculate my annual usage to compare on the comparison websites.
But, I have photos of my usage from March to November of this year. Can someone please tell me how many kw's I've used so far.
I know I will use more gas and electric during the winter months, but I am a single person who has a full time job so I'm guessing my usage will still not be too high (compared to a family)

I'm currently with Scottish Power Premium Plus.
The monthly direct debits are
Gas = £55
Electric = £39

I am currently £435.77 in credit, so I'm massively overpaying each month. But would I be able to get a cheaper cost per unit with someone else?

Thank you

    13250-13075 = 175 cubic metres of gas
    multiply by 39.4776 x 1.022640 Dividing by 3.6 gives approx 1962 Kwh of gas. At around 5pence/Kwh that would cost about £98

    50826-50078= 748 Kwh of electricity. At around 15 pence/unit that would cost £112.

    elec = 748 kWh for 7.75 months is very low, average consumption is around 4000kWh a year. At around 1300 a year you are paying way too much for your DD.

    gas = 175 cu m = around 1960 kWh for 8.5 months, again very low. How do you heat the property ?

    Putting figures of 1500 a year for electric and 7000 a year for gas into one of the comparison sites gives out total fuel costs of £453, a DD figure of £18 for electric and £20 a month for gas. It also shows a max saving of £30 on the year with a different supplier. You would probably be better off speaking to SP and giving them these figures and saying you want a DD of £9 for electric and £10 for gas and review it in March as you are 1 year in credit at the moment.

    Thanks for the replies

    Is Scottish Power Premium Plus the best tarrif, or is there another one I could ask for from Scottish Power?

    Also would another supplier be able to beat Scottish Power (plus I might be able to claim quidco/topcashback by joining them)

    Why don't you use a comparison site to find out, or ring Scottish Power, you need to anyway as you DD is too high.

    As you noted, March to November excludes the coldest 4 months of the year. If you have gas CH, you can use up to 80% of your annual consumption during that period, which I suspect is why your gas consumption from March-Nov is about a tenth of the annual average.
    Suggest you either phone SP to get your annual consumption figures, or use a comp site entering your annual kWh figures (don't use your DD amounts) as 17500kWh for gas and 3500kWh for electrcity. That will give you a ball-park comparison. The switch using a cashback site of course, assuming you are not on a lock-in contract.

    Hi B'stard

    The best advise I can give you is to call us with your current meter readings and get these updated onto your billing system. We can then confirm to you what our billing system holds as your annual consumption for gas and electricity in kWh. Once you have this figure, you can then check the best tariff we can offer (get the unit rates) and then compare these with the unit rates being offered by other suppliers. Don't work on monthly payments amounts, work on annual consumption in kWh and use the unit rates to work out yourself what your annual charge will be. Take into account any daily standing charges (if applicable as part of the tariff) and also include VAT at 5%.

    Let me know if you want me to confirm these details to you. If you do, just send me an email to onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com.

    Kind Regards

    Separate DDs, even though both your gas and electric are with Scottish Power? No dual fuel discount?

    Using the above figures, would it be better for me to switch to EDF Online S@ver Version 7 and receive the £100+ bonus for new customers?

    It's £180 if you use Quidco too. But be quick, because the offer closes 30/11.
