PPI Settlement Companies...whos legit and who scam??

I received a phone call today from PPI Settlements, stating I can claim back money etc...is this company legit?
They asked for £19.99 which is only taken if cclaim is successful, or are they a load of b*llo*ks? They have sent confirmation email that I spoke to them etc with these details:

Hi there

Personally I would not bother, I don't know anything about them but lots on here have had no end of hassle with using claims management companies, and not only that they tell everyone the same that they have a reclaim, in hope to get business from us.

They only do what we do on here, and here is free, the only money you would have to pay is for the posting at your local post office.

I echo what di says, do it your self, these claims coc cannot do anymore for you than you can do yourself, you will get all the help you need from this site, just shout.

And echo all the above - and i have the emotional scars to prove it - over three years of total hassle and now i`m right back at the beginning again doing it myself, which i should have done at the beginning!!!!

I also received a call from PPI Settlements. I was surprised that they needed such little information to say that I was entitled to a claim...

My housemate went through a similar process last year and got nothing from it, so I was of course a little suspicious.

PPI settlements want £20 to access your record and then if they win money for you - another 20 or 30% (I can't remember which).

I therefore ran a search and found the option to do it yourself on this site - and that is what I shall do, I would recommend anyone else should do the same!
