Supermarket special offers not entering

I get so tired of continually having to check till receipts carefully as there are usually some errors, but my visit to Morrisons on Monday was 'over the top'.

I went in for a few things, but found lots of good multi-buy offers eg After Eight Mints one for £2.99 or 2 for £4 and Whiskas one for £3.45 or 2 for £5 and was lured into buying several throughout the store. I ended up spending over £100, but when I checked my receipt most of the multi-buy offers had not been processed and I had been charged the single prices. (This seemed to be the new offers, the old ones available throughout the year were correct eg blueberries £2 each, or 2 for £3.)

I went back in to find the customer service desk manned by a manager and the customer in front of me being refunded on missing offers. When my bill was corrected I had been overcharged by £13.

I was refunded and told there was a problem with the system, but what about the other customers who had not noticed. Store profits must have been very high that day. I haven't been in again since, but I'm pretty sure they haven't displayed a notice asking customers to check previous receipts.

yes I have noticed this with morrisons and made a record of day and date each time i was overcharged something and the items which were overcharged. Came to about 8 times in 3 weeks. I then wrote to head office with these details saying this wasn't good customer service and having to queue up yet again for them to right their wrongs. All i got was a standared response of these happening s were on rare occasions. Oh yeah!
As long as supermarkets have your money customer service goes out of the windoow.

I'll start keeping a record of these. Manager was really unconcerned when I went back about overcharge. Pointed out that I had got the £1 saving on the blueberries.
  • You should get double the difference back-that'd stop them doing this!
