Dyson's given up on me

:(:( So need to get a new one, not too bothered as to which model, they all seem to be expensive lol, just wondering if anyone knew of any good deals?
I do have some Tesco vouchers which I suppose I could double up??
Thanks in advance for any help

    Whats wrong with the Dyson.?

Pretty much everything can be replaced, except the motor which is about £50-60 on some models.

If it still sucks through the hose, but not the bottom bar then its the belt which is £1.99, and fitted within a few mins. See youtube for a video.
  • If you look on the Dyson website, they will service it and the service includes spare parts etc. Look on there for your model, mine's on there and it is more than 10 years old!

Of course, sometimes it's just nice to get a new one .................

Thank you Jane and Alias, unfortunately the belt and filters have been replaced many times and this time it is not sucking through the hose :(
We can't work out whats wrong, we only bought it for £20 second hand, which was a bargain, we've had it 2 years, watching another second hand on ebay at the moment as the price for new at the moment is ridiculous!!
    Thank you

  • Have you checked the airpath? If you don't have the instructions then again refer to the Dyson website, but I had that problem and took out one or two of various plugs and managed to clear it.

Have to say though, 20 squid was definitely a bargain!

Better to get a reconditioned one. Try here: Reconditioned Dysons

what about cash convertors last time went in mine they had about 10 on display used ones.

    new cheapest dc14 £160 free p&P ebay

or ebay ex display unused maybe of interest

asda dc14 £155 out of stock but email link on page http://direct.asda.com/Dyson-DC14-Origin-Upright-Vacuum-Cleaner/001521791,default,pd.html

but they havent half gone up in price bought mine last year argos was £219 got at £140 must be the shipping costs from china, as oil has gone up and brilliant quantive easing (de-valuing the pound)
  • I've recently decided to ditch Dysons altogether and have gone with a Henry this time which is much more effective, although a little more work to push around as the suck is so good!
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Dyson will charge £69 to fully service the machine and that includes replacing any and all parts that need replacing, including the engine, hoses and anything else (except accesories). Think of it as getting a fully functioning, second hand Dyson for £69.
  • Currys have 25% off Dyson when trading in an old vacuuum.
