Anyone got a Bose 321 Home Cinema ? Is there anything similar ?

Options
Saw a Bose 321 at Lakeside last week and instantly fell in love with it !!

But at £1200 it seems a bit steep, found some used systems on ebay but got thinking are there any similar or better systems on the market ?

Any help, guidance or advice would be good. Thanks.

Not researched home cinema , but there has got to be better value systems than overpriced Bose stuff.
Suggest you buy some home cinema magazines or use the interweb to get recommendations.

Maybe pop into your local Richer sounds?

I perhaps should have been more specific........

I am interested in a 2.1 cinema system (2 speakers and a subwoofer as I don't want too many cables) and the reason I was looking at the Bose was because the quality was just excellent.

I currently have my sky running through the stereo so it will have to be a lot better to make me upgrade, hence why I was impressed by the Bose which is an all in one dvd/fm radio system which just blew me away !

Over a grand and it doesn't have a Blu Ray player?

Id look around a bit more,

This one has an ipod dock, no radio but you can get that off your Sky Box or freeview.

Some have wireless sub woofers, did not check that.

I'm confused as to what you're actually looking for.

Title says 'Home Cinema System', but later on you say you're blown away by it being an all in one DVD/FM radio system?

You also say you are feeding your existing stereo system with audio at the moment. What do you see the Bose offering that your current system doesn't? What do you have, equipment-wise, at the moment?

It sounds like you already have the '2' of '2.1' and all you need to buy is a subwoofer....

The Bose 321 is a 2.1 system with Bose 'imitation' surround sound which is an all in one dvd/cd/2.1 cinema system with a FM radio.

The reason that I am interested in a 2.1 system is that we do not want to have wires / speakers all over the place but believe we have room for a 2.1 set up.

Whilst I am pleased with my current set up when I heard the Bose it moved things onto a new level and was noticeably better than what I currently have.

What I would like to find out is if anyone owns a Bose and their opinion of it and secondly if there are any 'as good ' or 'better' alternatives to the Bose that don't cost £1200 new !

Apologies if I didn't make myself clear but I obviously thought I had.....

    Thanks.

    Food for thought.

We have a Samsung tv which has been excellent - like the idea of a blu ray player !!

    Shall investigate more........

I have this and its excellent

It gives you the option to move the speakers at a later date, has DVD, BluRay and Radio, you can also route Sky etc through.

You can also get it as the LX03 with out the BluRay for cheaper.

Best advice is to audition as many systems as you can, don't just fall for the BOSE Hype
