Insertion Fees - ladies shoes

Hi All
I'm sure this question has been answered a million times over and I apologise but I just can't find an explanation anywhere!!!!

I start all my listings at 99p - mainly because the stuff I sell is old household items that we just want rid of - if they're worth more then they get bid upwards....if they're not then we're not upset to let them sell for 99p.

I've just listed a brand new pair of ladies shoes for 99p but I got charged a 10p insertion fee and panicked that I'd somehow listed wrong as I never normally pay a listing fee....are there certain categories that have an enforced listing fee even if you're asking for less than a pound? Just wondered as I don't remember this happening before?!!

As a private seller you have a maximum number of 'free' auctions of 100 per month.

You have probably exceeded that.

You get 100 free listings at 99p per month, which includes relists. After that you start paying.

One other tip, I certainly would not be listing anywhere near those 100 free items a month, if ebay see too much volume and too regularly they will ask you to upgrade to a business account.

Thanks for the help. We've never anywhere near exceeded 100 before but this month we have had a massive clear out of baby stuff in time for Xmas so it's been a busy one! Is there anywhere that gives you a monthly count of how many you've listed? This is just so I know when I can start listing again for free...it certainly won't be as much as before - just a few bits left to get rid of now.

No, I don't think at present there is. Watch your relists - some internal counter has probably flicked over at some point.

If you are now incurring fees then I think the 100 free listings goes by calendar month so it will be December 1 before you get that again.

That is very helpful. I have done a lot of relisting on a number of items this month too. Probably those items will just go to the charity shop if they don't sell this time around.

There is a counter on My eBay page which tells you what month and how many left to the middle right of the page

if theres several items that are the same sort ie baby clothes, sell them as a bundle as they could still sell like this
