I got the wdj1667w from Empire Direct last week which is a better machine, 1600 spin and a larger wash load. for £385 including delivery http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/html/ZAN-WJD1667W.htm Very pleased with it. The cheapest I could find it anywhere else was £539

Some years ago, I was looking for a Zanussi washer dryer. the best price I got from Currys, Comet et. al. was around the £500 mark, plus a 5 year warranty if you wanted to pay extra (about £140). I found a local shop - A&S Domestics in Manchester - doing the same machine for about £30 less including a 5 year warranty.

I think over the last few years, prices on the internet have become much keaner than they were then, but it's still worth giving the local independants (who probably won't have an on-line catalogue) a call to check prices for this type of equipment - especially as this kind of shop will often throw in free delivery and installation if you're local.
