BG switching tariffs- how do I know how much my DD will be?

I'm on BG's standard tariff for dual fuel and I want to switch to their online tariff with DD payment. I can do this online which is nice and simple.

However, is there any way I can guage how much my DD will be before I switch tariffs? I currently pay 1/4ly in arrears and have only been in the property for 3 months so no benchmark to go by.

Hi moneysavingnovice - It'll only be a rough giude, but you can use that 3 month bill to estimate your annual use
Gas In the Winter with your heating on you will use appx. 80% of your annual gas consumption, so double that bill and say that is your 6 months of Summer use, then x the total by 80% for your winter use
Elec In winter your use will rise by appx. 20%. So double the bill for your summer use, then add 20% for your winter use.

Before you simply swap onto a different BG tariff, put your figures into a couple of Switch sites for the cost from other suppliers - If you find one who is better, do a search on them on this site before you sign up
