Help please

I went out of the room this morning and came back to a scan being done thats not my usual Mcfee....pressed stop and closed down pc...went back on and 3 page pop up before I'm on the net...

did a fulll mcfee scan...nothing came up

I have the sheild emblem at the bottom of pc and every few seconds a bubble is popping up saying a whole host of things about security and to register now???

I take it this is fake?

I can get on internet to google page but when pressing search a page comes up saying security risk etc...only got this cause I went on to programs and for some reason an old page of mse is on there???

is saying its XP ANTISPYWARE ALERT 2011

I can't go out of the room as it now and again does automatic scans.

pc is 5 years old...I have no idea about all the jargon thats used etc..but do you think its easy fixed or call it a day and buy new?

You'll need to follow the instructions carefully.

yes follow Knarf44's advice about using malwarebytes

it will produce a log file at the end ( may ask you to reboot first to remove some things) could you post that back on this thread when you are done

Download Malwarebytes free version and save to your desktop

Run FIXEXE http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/reg/antivirus-vista-2010/FixExe.reg

Launch Malwarebytes UPDATE then run Full Scan.
Delete any malware detected

when Im clicking on some links I'm getting blocked I only have one pc so will have to print everything out!..this is the only website I can get on (sometimes)...thanks for all your help!

just thought I'd mention..can I still do the above because earlier on all I could do was right click mouse on the bar at the bottom and I went to task manager and stopped running the xp alert 2011 thing...but its still doing pop up balloons every 4 seconds!..damn I should have taken a pc course!..everything looks double dutch..wish one of you guys lived near, I'd pay you!lol

Restart the computer and keep pressing F8 to get into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING and try again.

is the 'rules' on the other theard good..do they work????? Seems alot easier...was a thread titled poll.....new threat on pc...

sorry one minute I can get on here then I'm blocked..:(..then I can get back on and if I turn my back it scans again!..everyones help is very much appreciated x

Did you try going into safe mode with networking?

Sorry I took long but I went into the safe mode and did what the other thread said (totally not dismissing what the above posts say) but thought I'd try the easier version..and then I restored and I can now get on all websites BUT my mcfee keeps coming up saying my pc is at risk because real time scanning is not turn on ...but when I turn it on it says for 5 secs its ok then it does the warning again???..its doing updates at the moment so hoping it something to do with that..either way I've gone off computers for life!..but yeah the wee emblem pop up thing has gone saying I'm at risk and to get their scan etc...

Not even sure I did it right as I have no ideas about computers but would just like to thank you all very much! xxx
