Roads & Parks Questions

Evening All,
First of all let me say that after being a long time lurker on these forums and an avide money saver this is my first post on the site - so a big hello to all
Last year (September) myself anf my wife moved into a new Barratt home on a new development (shared with other homebuilders) in Bridgwater, Somerset. The majority of the works on the development have now been completed, and the areas covered by certain developers (for example Persimmon and Kings Oak) have been finished in terms of the roads and landscaping.
The main road through the development (as well as all Barratt Roads) have not yet been completed. I have contacted Barrats regional office in Exeter, their Customer Care team really should be called the Customer Dont Care team as they can never give me anykind of answer when asking about the completion of the roads. There is also a large "public space" area which currently is still full of builders rubbish and is NOT secured. On this area is a Barratt compound which is NOT secure and is always being "used" by kids causing a general nuisance.
I've checked through the deeds etc of the property and cannot find any reference to a deadling of completing the roads and parks. I have spoken to the Local council (Sedgemoor District Council Planning Dept) who tell me that they are unable to help and that I should contact the builder!
is anyone able to offer me any advice on this matter ? Any help would be appreicated!
Thank You

Watchdog ? Barrats are so big, they will procrastinate forever unless you get some big guns on it ..... how about Points West ?
BUT, it the park bit was an intrinsic part of the planning approval (you can see this at the council offices) then the council DO have a duty to make sure it was complied with.0 -
Make sure no one on your estate are paying any maintenance fee(ours is approx £24pa). I too am living on a Wimpey estate and it is now 6 years old, the park area has no paths on it just worn areas. Sharp objects sticking out of the ground etc etc. We got a letter through threatning us we could lose our house if we dont start paying. Of course this was the first letter we had ever recieved of the maintenance company. Luckily for us some organised guy on our esttate formed a commitee and took these findings to the local council and asked wimpey to send a representative. Some local governors(or along the lines of) were there and a huge group of us from thiws commitee. And guess what. We won, Wimpey realised the maintenance company they had given the contract to had not actually done anything and sacked them! We still dont have to pay our maintenance fee's. So dont accept it!Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
£11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

Try calling Somerset County Council in Taunton as they are responsible for development control and should be able to direct you to whoever is responsible for this site at Barratts.0
