    ive made same type of claim, dla

    i have been out of work for a year with this problem but only wanted to claim if money got bad.

    so ive claimed ( still waiting for response )

    i struggle to walk, need help during day and night help with cleaning and cooking.

    i have same prob as my dad whos has claimed dla for over 10 years.

    Ask the DWP (not sure if you can do it on the clients behalf or if you have to tell them to ask the dwp themselves, you will know the answer to that one better than me) for a copy of the clients original claim form, and any other evidence used in the decision, including a copy of ANY medical report (such as one from ATOS if they conducted an assessment.)
    Ask for a statement of reasons why they turned down the claim.

    You have one month to appeal (appeals can be extended beyond this period sometimes if you can show good cause for a late appeal, but go with one month to be on the safe side unless unavoidable).

    If you do appeal, please represent the person at the tribunal hearing, or arrange for someone else to - as success rates are higher if the claimaint is represented.
