How do you stop a CD-R ejecting using the Mac OS X in simple finder mode?! I'm sure the answer is simple but my brain has died and I can't figure it out! HELP! ???
Come to think of it how would you burn a CD-R in simple finder mode?

I think that disc burning is disabled in simple finder, you would have to use something like toast and add it to the list of approved applications.
You can burn from iTunes though.
When you say "how do you stop a cd-r from ejecting" do you mean it ejects automatically? or do you want to stop a user from manually ejecting it?0 -
Simple Finder automatically ejects the CD once its been inserted. I'm more of a PC man than a Mac guy! Its driving me nuts! ???0

What are you trying to do with the disc? data backup, burning audio disc etc..
Simple finder is designed to allow a user (like kids) access to the computer with only very basic functionality, it disallows ANY kind of disc burning by default.
Normally when you insert a blank disc the finder will respond by either opening a specific application, ignoring the disc for now or by mounting it as a volume on the desktop, all depending on what you specify in sys prefs.
Since simple finder does not allow disc burning it will simply spit the disc back at you, it can't do anything with it.
If you wanted to burn an audio disc from itunes for example you would select the tracks you required and then hit "burn" You would then be asked to insert a blank disc and it would burn.
This assumes you have allowed access to itunes of course, as I say simple finder is all about allowing a very restricted use, so that the user can't access anything where they could cause bother!
Can I ask why you're using simple finder? It sounds kile you might be better off using a standard account and putting restrictions in place for certain applications etc but allowing disc burning.0
