What's roughly the total amount I can put on loans?

Non-government-based, and at reasonable rates.
Am I free to just open a few of the top student accounts and get an overdraft on all of them, or is there some kind of check in the application process to stop this?
Do you think I can take some out on a 0% credit card and then just juggle it to another when the period is up until I'm able to pay it off?
I have a pretty squeaky clean credit history if that helps.

Some state in T&Cs you are only allowed 1 student account if its with them. Some require student loan payment. (which limits you to one of them).
Banks can also withdraw overdrafts are anytime. So unless you keep on top of it all, they withdraw the overdraft, you end up with loads of charges etc.
With current interest rates being quite low, its pretty pointless.0 -
Interest rates for what?
I'm trying to avoid working during my course, since it'll be really intensive and I'd rather devote all my time towards it.
I'd rather take it out on loan and pay it back when I start earning, but the government loan is obviously only so much.0 -
Ah so you are planning on spending it.
Don't take it out unless you need it. Budget well. Work in summer.0
