Stop the AA calls

I keep getting phone calls from the AA. Am signed up on TPS but wish to stop these sales calls.

Was asked

'Would you be interested in breakdown cover?'

No I am already with RAC

'What about Home Insurance?'

They are wasting there time and mine!

Who can I complain too?

When I got a cold call through after I had signed up to TPS I asked them why they were calling me and explained the matter and to be redirected to their manager. The caller couldn't be more apologetic and said I would receive no more calls from them.

  • That is a good idea, most of time I get these calls either when I am busy or not near the phone so do not get time to compose myself.

Does this work with the silent calls? or calls for previous tenants?

The AA make a least a couple of calls a week and its getting beyond a joke!

    Thanks

Tell them you are reg'd with the TPS and to delete you from their lists. If that fails, report them to the TPS.
Remember that if you have had previous dealings with the AA then the TPS protection does not apply.
Silent calls may originate from outside the UK, in whch case the TPS has no jurisdiction.

Much more fun to tell them you've changed your number to 0844 891 3560 and ask them to call you on that in future.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Exactly.I worked in an outbound sales call center for a while & was told by someone on the phones that if you ask the caller to supress your number & they dont,it could mean a fine of up to £50k for the calling company.

If they persist after you have asked them to cease making them complete the TPS Complaint Form. http://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/
  • I have had dealings with AA in the past, so guess I am fair game.

Can I just ask not to be called again?
