Ikea online shopping issues

If you are thinking of ordering from Ikea online you might like to be aware of the following.
1. When you place your order you will be given a provisional delivery date. However buried in the terms and conditions - which many people do not bother to read - it states that this is subject to a possible delay of up to 14 days. If you are subsequently advised of a later delivery date, there is no chance of negotiating an earlier delivery (which may be essential if you are undertaking a time dependent project) and you will not know until much nearer the time whether your order will be delivered am or pm.
2. Ikea do not have their own in-house delivery service, they use DHL. If you encounter a problem with the delivery, DHL will tell you to speak to Ikea and Ikea will tell you to talk to DHL.
3. Although Ikea will have taken the money from your payment card as soon as you placed the order, they will not intervene if you encounter a problem with your delivery. They told me that they have no influence with DHL.
4. If you decide to cancel your order because the delivery goes wrong, they will not refund the money until DHL return the goods to them. This is around 7 days.
I have ordered many items from home delivery websites and my experience with Ikea was truly the worst I have ever encountered.
